The Right of the People
I wish we were more like the French. They are on their FIFTH Republic, since the Revolution. They know when the government and the governors become as corrupt and malicious and conniving as ours now is, that it must be burned to the ground, reforming it all to its very foundations. I was foaming at the mouth about this last night at a party in the woods, after a few margaritas.

Our national hubris is that since we were the first in the modern world to do it, there's no need for us to update. It's like we're running DOS and most of the rest of the First World (and even some of the developing nations) is moving to Ubuntu.
